located in the
historic
Jonathan Root
homestead (circa
1720). It is
Southington’s
oldest home and
was visited by
General George
Washington on
September 20,
1790 when the
building
operated as a
tavern.
Attorney
Meccariello’s
practice
consists of
conducting all
real estate
transactions
including
purchase, sale
and refinance of
residential and
commercial
properties and
land use
planning and
development.
Attorney
Meccariello also
represents
individuals in
personal injury
matters
including motor
vehicle
accidents, slip
and fall and dog
bite injuries.
In addition to
these matters,
Attorney
Meccariello
handles
landlord/tenant
matters, powers
of attorney,
advance
directives, will
preparation and
the formation of
limited
liability
corporations,
contract
preparation and
review and other
general civil
litigation.
Attorney
Meccariello is a
member of the
Connecticut Bar
Association, the
National College
of Probate
Judges, the
Connecticut
Probate Assemby,
the Southington
Bar Association
and has served
as Southington’s
Probate Judge
for the past
nine years.

Attorney Shari
Bornstein
focuses her
practice in the
area of family
matters,
including
dissolution of
marriages and
civil unions,
custody actions
and child
representation
as an attorney
for minor
children in
these matters or
as Guardian ad
Litem. In
addition to
litigation,
Attorney
Bornstein is
trained to
handle these
family matters
with a
collaborative
approach. She is
a member of the
Connecticut
Divorce Lawyers
Association and
the Central
Connecticut
Collaborative
Family Law
Group. She also
serves as a
Special Master
for the Superior
Court, providing
assistance to
colleagues and
litigants to
help settle
pending cases.

Bornstein served
for many years
as a special
public defender
and private
attorney
representing
clients in
criminal matters
in the various
G.A. Courts for
a variety of
matters and more
serious matters
in the Part A
Courts of
Hartford, New
Britain and
Middletown.

Bar Association,
